I popped in for a drink on Monday. Vito came over for a chat, possibly because we were the only customers not fighting with pool cues at the time. He was really friendly, very positive and has the right ideas, but I think Brenda's right; without the substantial sums needed to transform the pub, he'll struggle to attract new (bluntly:different) customers. Go and support him, but don't get your expectations too high just yet.

You can now personalise and configure the Bet Slider to suit your own playing style. You will be able to set and save slider profiles based on different parameters including, game type, game limit and raise by, to and total. Access the Bet Slider configuration settings from either the Lobby or from the game.
To access the Bet Slider from the Lobby, players must:
1. Select the Menu button from the Menu bar (bottom left of the lobby).
2. Select Global Table Options.
3. Select Bet Slider from the drop-down list.

DeepStack cash tables
In response to your requests we have added “DeepStack” No Limit Hold’em cash tables from 0.25/0.50 up to 5/10. These cash game tables have a minimum buy in of 100 x the big blind and maximum of 200 x the big blind. We hope you enjoy them!
Cash game Ante tables
Get more action and play for bigger pots in Ladbrokes Poker’s new No-Limit and Pot-Limit ante cash games. Ante games are played the same as regular cash games, except that each player must ante (place a bet) a certain amount before the hole cards are dealt. Once the blinds and antes have been posted, the rest of the hand will play out like a regular cash-game hand, with the antes adding extra incentive to win the pot.

Hey Nick, just wanted to say thanks for the SSH book recommendation. Ashamed to admit I had never even heard of it before (I have "hold 'em poker for advanced players" from malmuth/sklansky which tends to focus more on mid-limit games), and ordered it after you talked about how useful it was.
Let me tell you, it came last week and I have been destroying the $2/4 tables since then. Bankroll is up $600 in just two days! I'm sure that kind of win rate can't be sustained, but as long as there continues to be an influx of new players I think we'll both do quite well.

I'm surprised the Cards will spend the week in Tennesee after the Titans game rather than before.
Isn't the usual MO that: you beat up on one another for a week and then play the game? Will the 2 teams work out together after they'be butted heads in a real game? Or will the Cards set up shop and practice alone in Tenn.

My favorite Bond film to date. (1965's "Thunderball'' held that title for 41 years....pretty good record.) It's all you'd expect from the genre... just chock full of eye candy. The first feature film I'd seen made in breath-taking (Former Soviet block) Montenegro. I mean, half of the charm of the 007 films are the locations. But come on, traveling to the distant shores of the Adriatic Sea to play Texas Hold-em Poker instead of Baccarat? Because it's popular in the States right now?......Yawn! And can we please stop using the word ''Terrorist" to describe seemingly every bad guy in seemingly every recent film? It's been done and done and done again. I have an idea, how about the term "Malevolent Despot" for once? (Just a suggestion.) Overall this film was a lot of fun and I'd like to see it again while it's still on the big screen. OMG! That's some filthy hippies alright! But at least they had clean sheets. What makes things even worse nowadays is that ripped blue jeans are in style and you often can't tell a filthy hippie 'showing everything' from a respectable professional person. I see the time coming when our laundromats will all have a spanking bench installed next to the folding table. That's the way they do it in Amsterdam.

I enjoyed watching clips from Burton Richardson's movie filmed in the Philippines, and I must say how odd and out-of-place an object a rattan stick seemed to me. I've been in squatter settlements, and if you're looking for rattan, or kamagong, or bahi sticks, you're out of luck, but pool cues, and 2x2's or 2x4's are all over the place.

What is needed now is a UN peacekeeping force. Unlike Americans, Kenyans do not have "the right to bear arms." Yet some tribes are better armed (illegally or, as some allege, "legally" through the Kibaki government) than are others.

However, martial-law is not the solution. As we noted earlier, a military coup would almost certainly worsen not improve matters.

After all, what are people fighting for if not the right to lead the lives that they believe they should be able to live--the right to live in an equitable society.
THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS: IF THE UNITED NATIONS DOES NOT DEPLOY A PEACEKEEPING FORCE TO KENYA IMMEDIATELY, THEN KENYANS WILL BE FORCED TO DEFEND THEMSELVES. Every one of us would do the same if not for ourselves then certainly for our children were we in the shoes of someone who, through no action of their own, was targeted and lived daily in fear of imminent death.
The west has been far too slow and far too keen on pushing its power-sharing agenda.

The west, ESPECIALLY THE UNITED STATES, has yet to explain how it expects Kenyans to live with one another when all is said and done under such a power-sharing agreement.
We reiterate that had the west pressed for a new election when all of this began, then many, many Kenyan lives could have been saved. As it is, the west does not realize that the options that it thinks are on the table are not the options that many Kenyans have in mind. We read that there are mobs of 5,000 engaging in violence. This is an indication of how monumental this problem has become. Kenya is rapidly moving toward civil war and the possible secession of the six pro-Odinga provinces from the two pro-Kibaki provinces.
We should add that, at this point, secession may actually be the most humane resolution. It is fairly clear that certain groups can no longer fathom co-existing with certain other groups. Let us not wait until thousands have died before we admit the obvious. Secession could save lives.
Frankly, a re-run is beginning to look like a nicety. The west and PNU apparently have yet to grasp this reality.
If the west wants to keep Kenya intact, then we highly suggest that the UN deploy peacekeeping troops NOW as we and others suggested weeks ago...
If the conditions for democracy can be restored, then a new election might be possible. Nonetheless, whoever wins such an election will have to work very hard to heal the divides that have festered and erupted due to the inadequate action of the west and the international community.
