Question by lawgirls11: Sweet Sixteen Need Help?
I'm having a black and white themed 16th birthday party.
Invites? How do i word to dress in black and/or white dresses for girls and just like shorts and button ups for even t-shirts for guys? My birthdays in August and the party is going to be outside so i don't
want people to over heat. There is a pool so i'm going to tell people to bring bathing suits. Which they can wear under there clothing or change into later in the night.
Also should i mail the invites to their homes or e-mail them?
Decor- Once again it's going to be outside on my deck. (By our pool)
There are two deck tables available (0ne round, one Square and both with green umbrella's in the center). A small cafe style table and a two seat bar. There are also two folding tables available for food.I kinda of want to incorporate daisy's into the decor and for the pool black and white inner tubes. But the rest of the decoration i'm unsure about. We have ton's of Christmas lights.
Food- light finger foods
Any other ideas/tips welcome. Please comment. If you'd loike moire detail just ask. Thanks!

Aw, isn't it sad to see some of those things disappear?! The kids sing the doughnut man song and instead of "He satisfies your SOUL..." they sing "He satisfies your HOLE..." It makes me laugh everytime, as I picture Jesus cramming a pastry nugget in our mouths, and satisfying our (pie-)hole.
For the longest time, Zayne thought the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything would just stay at home and "HI" around (which she explained as them saying "Hi, Hi, Hi" to everyone) but now she has started to correct herself and she pauses briefly when she gets to that point of the song and thinks for a moment and says "LIE AROUND".
They are certainly good things to write down in their journals, to bring up at the opportune time - like 16th birthday party speeches and wedding receptions.
It's true, though, you never know what little "thing" they will grow out of next...but at the same time...some some little things are nice to see leave - like the 'hold-all-their-poop-till-night-time' thing...I pray for them to grow out of THAT one!!

When I was in the UK I heard that young mothers could get free housing.
And from what I understand this did affect the UK's birthrate positively. But I am not an expert on this.
So if I'm right, if government wants a higher birthrate ... they will have to pay for it.

I don't understand the links. The first is for a council flat for a poor family. The second is for a college student who doesn't like living at home. None of that has to do with the birthrate, and the second example shouldn't even be eligible. Young mothers get free housing? Were they married? If not, raising that birthrate is not desirable. The second link says single mothers go to the head of the line for council flats.
The Japanese birthrate is something like 1.2 or 1.3, without looking it up. The replacement rate for a static population is 2.1. It's not happening. The latest Cabinet survey shows 40% of Japanese aren't interested in having kids.
Wait till I get these posts together for more.
Hold on a second. This Guardian article says the British birthrate is rising, and also says:
Immigration is singled out as the sole mitigating factor, seen as crucial to maintaining population growth.
Muslims do tend to have more children.
Then there's this article:
The average UK-born woman has 1.84 children – an increase of 10% in just four years – while women living here who were born abroad have about 2.5 children. The ONS figures show that nearly a quarter of babies in England and Wales in 2008 were born to mothers who came from outside the UK, most commonly women from Pakistan, Poland and India.
No word on the ethnicity of the UK-born women who've contributed to that 10% increase in four years.
I suspect free housing is not the reason.

To harness the energy that fuels both these drives, we need to move beyond the New Groupthink and embrace a more nuanced approach to creativity and learning. Our offices should encourage casual, cafe-style interactions, but allow people to disappear into personalized, private spaces when they want to be alone. Our schools should teach children to work with others, but also to work on their own for sustained periods of time. And we must recognize that introverts like Steve Wozniak need extra quiet and privacy to do their best work.
