Thanks for adding me. I'm honored.
Fear of deep water? Back in '91 I was captain of an 85' sailboat and had spent nearly 2-1/2 years on the French Riviera and another 7 months on the Costa del Sol in Spain. We were bringing the boat to the States and at the midway point between Grand Canary Island and St. Thomas, USVI, we stopped the boat and everyone went swimming just so, for the rest of our lives we could tell people we'd been swimming smack dab in the middle of the Atlantic. I don't know how deep it was there, but you couldn't touch bottom.

I prescribe ginger tea, a gentle Jemima-Scroob-Armin sandwich cuddle, and, umm ... hibernating until birthin' time, swaddled in a cloud of soft baby yarn.
Oh, and if you can find one, get ye to a heated indoor pool. I've never been pregnant, but I know all about body/gravity disagreements, and floating in warm water is *excellent* for the hurties and means you don't have to carry yourself -- the water does it for you.

WOW yeah this is a touchy one.
First of all yeah you are right you do not need a "license" to get a divorce but before it can be deemed legal it has to be filed legally and go through the court system. Otherwise you could not be legally free from that person to go marry again. Now part of me agrees with you in that yeah it would be nice in the perfect world if the government was out of the marriage business...but the problem is when it comes time to divorce. Since that has to be a "legal" separation then it has to be handled as such and so if the gov. the courts weren't involved in the marriage to begin with....well now what? Now you have two people who want out and it is ugly and they are fighting...one has run off with the kids and cranked up the credit cards and left the other with all the bills....yeah it's not pretty. That is the problem. Marriage is great if it would stay great but it often times gets messy and then all hell breaks loose. So I see your point but not sure if that will ever happen. I say leave it in the courts only. Let any two adult human people regardless of race, sex...blah...blah...blah seek out a marriage in the court of law.....make it a binding agreement/document period...end of story. I think the more you make it a religious thing it becomes way too emotional and then it becomes a moral issue and every has themselves in a tizzy. Then it's all of a sudden the churches problem and there are just too may fly by night cultist churches that I would not trust to follow the "law" when it came to marriage. So make marriage like divorce...go through the courts...but then you get no special tax breaks or insurance deals....period. Your marital status should be treated like your race....private and not a grounds for any decision making for credit or other provisional policies.
As for your issues about affirmative action and having the gov. force businesses to hire a certain number of people yeah it's stupid. But we all know why that came about and at the time it was necessary...have we grown up and beyond that now? I'm not sure. I would like to think we are all grown up and better and able to not discriminate in our hiring process but it does still go on ....even with
It's a thought... problem is...once a regulation is in place it is damn hard to get rid of it! :S
AA so then make it more of a suggestion and give companies rewards for having a diverse workforce and I know you won't like that either...I'm not talking tax break...but something...IDK....free subway sandwiches for a year

"Next, San Francisco recently hired a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), who was actively investigating, monitoring and instituting stronger security policies."
Herein lies a bit of a quandary. Network Security Manager Jeana Pieralde was appointed to the newly created position just a few months ago. Her job is to create a security policy, submit it to the Committee on Information Technology and after it's made official, to work with a group of security personnel from various departments to implement the policy. However, the policy isn't actually official yet. Its still awaiting approval from COIT.
Thus with no policy to enforce or with which to determine compliance or lack thereof, it is a mystery what exactly Jeana Pieralde was doing performing an unannounced, after-hours "security audit" in a City office other than that in which she herself worked. It was during that secret "security audit" on the evening of Friday, June 20th, 2008, in which Jeana Pieralde took a hard drive from another City employee's office and was photographed by Terry Childs as she did so.
The office from which Pieralde removed the hard drive belonged to DTIS Security Officer Nancy Hastings (who naturally was not present in the office because the "security audit" was being conducted after hours.)
Terry Childs had returned late to the offices (which do include his office and do not include Jeana Pieralde's office) at about 5:15 P.M. to find Jeana Pieralde (who does not work in those offices) taking a hard drive from one of Terry's co-workers offices. Terry photographed this act with the camera in his cellphone.
Jeana Pieralde then involved DTIS Deputy Director Rich Robinson. Rich called Terry and told him to stop taking pictures.
Three days later (Monday) both Rich Robinson and Jeana Pieralde filed complaints of threats with the San Francisco police department and Police Inspector James Ramsey was assigned to the case. No charges have ever been filed against Terry Childs for the alleged threats (which included the statement "I'm ready for you Rich. Or I can come up to your office.")
However, Inspector James Ramsey did stick around and investigate Terry Childs, culminating in his arrest for violation of California's "Unauthorized access to computers" law (Cal Penal Code subsection 502.)
Which presents another quandary because it appears that the only employee of the City who had clear authorization to administer the routers and set passwords was Terry Childs. Thus "unauthorized access" seems at the very least, a suspicious charge.
Further, even the draft of the City's security policy clearly and repeatedly states that passwords are to be kept confidential, not divulged, not even to co-workers or one's boss and that the only the head of the department (Chris Vein in DTIS's case) as the "information owner" has the authority to determine who may have access to any password.
Neither Inspector Ramsey, nor the Assistant District Attorney Conrad B. del Rosario, Jr. have claimed that Chris Vein ever asked Terry Childs for a password or for any information at all.
It certainly will be interesting to see this case continue.

CAPA was announced formally to the faculty in a closed meeting which focused almost exclusively on whether the building would have a hot tub, an indoor or an outdoor pool... no mention of public or action or courses or faculty. It was simply amazing (and telling) to listen to Liz go on and on and on about the pluses and minuses of a CAPA pool... and without tenure, the faculty (aside from a few) had to sit quietly and pretend to take her seriously.

I'd like to see the correlation between the people complaining about the spectator fee, the people demanding a heated indoor pool, and the people who loudly complain that our rates are too high.
There seems to be a section of the Albury community who didn't realise that The Magic Pudding was a work of fiction, rather than an analogy for government budgets.

I will be disappointed if the new rec center doesn't have a nice out door pool. Centennial Sportsplex has a huge indoor pool less than 2 miles away that is open to the public. Do we need another pricey indoor pool so close to Centennial's? Is Centennial's pool too crowded? Do residents of Sylvan Park want an indoor or an outdoor pool?]]>

I've honestly never heard that rumor, although yes, in Dream On, it doesn't quite sound like Tyler of the 1980s and 1990s, so I guess, if I squint really hard and tilt my head sideways, I can see what you mean.
That being said, Lynn's right, as that song was one of their very first and came out before they did swimming pools of coke (or maybe it came out while doing swimming pools of coke).
