I would expand that to those living at home unable to produce utility bills demonstrating they are on their own as participants of society. I'm seriously for abolishing the IRS if you are not up on the FAIR Tax I have it's logo on my side bar, click on it and it will take you to their page. Foreclosure Mess Leaves Some Buyers in Limbo
An increasing number of buyers of foreclosed homes are finding that they can’t close on the property because the foreclosure — and the sale — is derailed by a problem with the foreclosure paperwork.
“Many of these transactions will probably never close,” said Greg Rokeh, a manager of bank-owned real estate in Longwood, Fla., for Watson Realty Corp.
Rokeh said he has about 25 pending sales that are tied up in the document reviews. He predicts that most of buyers will give up and purchase a different property.
“We understand it is a huge inconvenience to buyers,” Freddie Mac spokesman Brad German said.

What a gift to have her things to bring her close to you. My dad found it too painful to have Mom's things around so he donated them to others who needed them shortly after she passed. How I long to have her old recipes, the simple pearls that she loved so much. The sound of her voice on the answering machine. I do have a set of rosary beads that I treasure, but I so wish I had what you have experienced with your grandmother. How wonderful to be able to share your foray into her personal haven. We have so much snow that we don't need curtains on the first floor. The snow piles from the roof go to the top of the window for all the kitchen and sun-room windows. Snow Curtains!!!! In MA we have even more snow. Usually it melts a bit before the next storm... not this year!!! The town had to remove snow banks since drivers couldn't see pulling out of side streets. There was no place for children to walk to school other than in the street!

Well, our almost twelve year old has her own computer, but it's a desk top, not a lap top. We also have it in our game room, not in her bedroom. This decision was based on the same logic you use regarding full-time Internet access.
So, I'd say, no laptop yet. In my thinking, that's a good high school graduation present. But, I also say, have that talk...or better yet, have Wine Guy do it! Wizard is bound to be hearing things from the other guys at school, not all of it accurate.

Kristin - Actually it is probably old damage. In 2000 (when I was three months pregnant with PinkGirl), we had a leak in a bathroom immediately above this one. At the time, it soaked a 12 foot radius, upstairs and down. It took 18 months to complete, but I got a new kitchen, two new bathrooms and all new carpet and flooring. We were always told there was no damage behind this bathroom wall, but I was never really convinced. (by JSM)
